Dolphin and archive (zip, tar.gz etc.) integration

In case you wonder, what happened with archive integration in new (4.1 Beta 1) Dolphin, it's now optional and inactive by default (and I completly don't understand why). In order to turn it on again you have to go to configuration, general and check "Browse through archives" checkbox.

Mobuzz TV: Daily Buzz

A couple of days ago I found a nice vodcast called Mobuzz TV: Daily Buzz. It's a really good show, with charming presenter (well, at least in english version;)) and proffesional realisation. Since my Internet connection is a "little bit" slow, I wrote a simple script that downloads new episodes of Mobuzz TV: Daily Buzz, so when I want to watch it I already have it on my hard drive. By the way: I really should improve my english:]. Here's the script: #!/bin/bash

What's new in this release?

The most noticable change: from now on Flamenco won't be separate icon theme - you will need to have "BC Tango KDE" installed to get full experience when using Flamenco. I did this, because there was no point in doing the same work twice as well as there was no point in downloading most icons. And that leads us to even more important change: from now on BC Tango KDE becames base icon theme. What does it mean for you? Well, let's say you want to make your own tango-like icon theme, but you don't want to make entire icon set (which mean hundreds of icons) or syncing icons from BC Tango KDE with every new release. So guess what? Now you don't have to! Just put this line: Inherits=bctangokde in index.theme and all missing icons from your theme will be automatically completed by BC Tango KDE icons! Now making Tango-like icons for KDE is easier than ever!

KMail tangoified!

I found a comment on KDE-Look with complaint about missing Tango icons in KMail, so I decided to make this user (and probably other KMail users and Tango fans) a little more happier:). Check the following preview:

Most of these icons will be included in the next BC Tango KDE release (comming soon!), but unfortunately it appears that KMail is using some own, weird 12x12 icons which are hard to change. Therefore if you want to have full Tango experience in KMail you will have to manually copy some additional icons to your KMail folder and this is far from being user friendly. I hope they will fix this issue in KDE 4.

Flamenco - Folders! Folders! Folders!

So here it is: almost 100 folders has been added to upcoming Flamenco release and they have one mission: to make your desktop even more fancy;). Next Flamenco release date: soon. BTW: I'm currently working on icons for regular Tango for KDE, which will be released at the same time as next Flamenco release.

Hey, I made some icons for Instant Messengers written in Qt. They were made for Flamenco in order to get more consistent desktop (because original icons for those programs just doesn't fit with Tango lik icons). I'm far from being even a decent artist (I miss even a basic knowledge), but I personally like those. Maybe the Twinkle icons aren't perfect, but in my opinion it still better then original one:). Here's the result of my work:

Due some problems with xhejn.org (read: my friend forgot to pay for this domain:) ) I had to move my page to a new server - ovh.org. It's faster, profesional, more stable, more reliable, and more fancy;).

From other news: I'm working on next Flamenco release and on additional icon pack with standard tango icons, which inherits icons from Flamenco. Here's a preview:

I'm currently working on icon theme for KDE. It is mostly based on Tango project, but it works without patching kdelibs, because it's just a regular icon theme for KDE 3.5.x! It started as "Orange Tango BC Edition", but now is known as Flamenco icon theme (because it fits better to Tango name).
Looks like people like it ("(...) YOU ARE SUPERSTAR!", "Keep up the good work man!"), so I will keep working on it:). Below you can see a screenshot of my desktop with Flamenco icons.

If you like it, you can download a latest version from KDE-Look. I will release updated version soon, but for now, I have to spend some time on translating MPlayer.
